Meg had a gymnastics meet yesterday. It was supposed to be an easy one with none of the large, "heavy-hitter" Indiana gyms competing. So, it was quite a surprise (especially since her team had a 2 week Christmas break with NO practice---i.e. they were rusty)to get there and see that MOST of the big, very competitive gyms were there! However, that did not bother our Tink. She had her highest overall score of her career (Can an 11 year old be said to have a career?) and earned a 9.0 on vault, 9.275 on floor, and a 9.35 on beam. The floor score got her a 4th place, overall she placed 5th, and the beam score got her 1st place. Note that I do not mention her bars score. There's a reason as bars are not Meg's favorite and her low 8.0 scores typically reflect that. Her Level 7 team even placed 3rd. Sunday, January 11, 2009
